Oh please draw my bath
Our good friend Martin works as a concierge for another luxury Chicago hotel--one of Four Seasons main competitors. The other day a bartender came running up to the concierge desk and told Martin that one of the guests in the bar wanted someone to prepare him a bubble bath ASAP. The guest was just finishing up his 3rd martini and would be returning to his suite shortly. Martin drew the gentleman a hot fragrant bath, dimmed the lights just so, and put on a soothing, soft jazz CD. He then hightailed it back to his desk. He decided that if he stuck around, the guest might want him to scrub his back and that was way, way above and beyond the call of duty - even if the man was paying $1,500 a night for his room. Where does great service begin and end in a case like this?
